An Asian Food Lover’s Paradise

My first instruction is: Do not read this if you are a vegetarian!

I have one word for you guys: ASIA!
Remember how on my flight to Bangkok I was wondering what the sushi will be like in Sydney. Well I must have done my homework poorly back then as Sydney has a gigantic Asian population; it’s as if anyone that ever left Asia went to live in Sydney.

I see very few Caucasian people in the CBD, and most of the bars are karaoke bars, most of the restaurants are Sushi, Korean, hot pot, Thai, Malay, Indonesian and anything Asian you can think of really. It’s official. I am in love with this place. Dining in Sydney

The variety of food, the fresh ingredients and the affordable food courts with huge portions are heaven for someone who had to spend a fortune for decent pack of sushi in Dublin few months ago. But all the carbs are still there. And the food is mainly dictated by the immigration trends for Australia. Indian, Korean, Chinese…a lot of Chinese and Japanese and so many Brazilian cafés, way more than Mexican places actually. Surprisingly, the Mexican places here are empty, so that speaks for itself.

All the Asian chefs look very respectful and they definitely know what they are doing, unlike me with the hot pots. Whoever invented this dish knew their food. So far, my favourite cuisine is Korean food and I swear there is nothing better than the concept of cutting your steak with scissors just before you toss it back on the BBQ…..Asian food in Sydney

Chinatown, of course, is just around the corner, being more central than Hyde Park itself.  All the fake Louis Vuitton bags you can ask for, actually everything is fake, but it makes for a great shopping stroll. You can pick up a variety of stuff including  $5 Tees that say crazy things like “cute, but psycho”. Great present for the sister I guess….

Speaking of Hyde park, it is a miniature version of the one in London, but once you have given it a go from end to end there is nothing you can really do there unless you have roller-skates or kids. I have few more interesting spots to show you.

So, before I take you even further down on my walk around Central Sydney, tell me, which is your favourite Asian cuisine? What do you like most about it and where was the best one you’ve had?
