Qantas Airlines really impressed me. The plane was big and new and the staff were extremely friendly. They went around checking if I needed anything but not in an annoying way. The good news is I didn’t have to pay anything extra for the privilege. It’s as if they got a bonus every time they were nice to me, or fed me or offered to top up my wine. Well that system was fine by me.
The in-flight menu was huge, and they put a lot of effort into explaining the various options unlike some budget airlines that offer you some really poor ham and cheese options that cost you like €8. I am 100% convinced I am the luckiest person in the world if I get to sit by myself on a long-haul flight and I had all 3 seats to myself for the entire London- Bangkok flight. Someone must have liked me at check-in.
I heard you can get a nice seat or bad travel company depending on how you treat the staff on the ground. I am always nice just in case. And I got a complimentary pair of travel socks that stop your feet from swelling during the flight. This time it wasn’t of my own doing; their credit card system was down so they couldn’t process the payment, but thankfully no one wanted me to walk out of that plane with elephant ankles. Nice people indeed. So thank you Quantas, so far you are at the top of my list for economy class comfort. And no, this is not a commercial. I would condemn any airline that’s not accommodating or friendly, because I am the client. Tell me, which is your top airline, or how about your least favourite? Do you normally fly with budget airlines or do you prefer the premium ones?
