What came over me? I can’t believe that it has taken me so long to submit this entry. I guess that speaks for itself when it comes to Sydney and its beauty. Anything I write about it won’t be an exaggeration, I was so busy doing so much stuff every day, I hardly had time to stop for a minute and write about it.
Maybe it will make more sense if I just describe it very plainly and leave the judgement to the eyes of the beholder. Imagine a city that is big, but still compact enough to everything on foot that the hop on- hop off offers.
Now imagine a shiny central business district and the delightful neighbouring harbour.
Darling Harbour is so cute and offers so much that, on a weeknight, if you don’t feel like doing anything but still don’t want to go home, you just can just wander around. Amazing cafes, shopping centres, restaurants, the biggest Imax screen cinema in the world are all situated on the waterfront but it’s not too packed, or expensive and still manages to have a really welcoming atmosphere.
I walk over Darling Harbour every day along the Pyrmont Bridge. No matter how sleepy I feel in the morning there is no better sight than the water sparking in the sun.
If you find yourself taking a stroll on Pyrmont Bridge, definitely factor in a cup of coffee from Boby’s Kiosk. Bobby has a different dirty joke every morning and makes the coffee so strong, it puts hair on your chest. His biggest claim to fame is that he has served the prime minister.
What was the best walk to work you’ve ever had? What would be your dream route on your way to the office in the morning? Paris Bridge? London Bridge? Miami Bridge? I am not allowed to leave a Dublin Bridge out of the competition.
See ya in town!
